Karen began practicing manual therapy in 1999 with Zen Shiatsu, a Japanese form of bodywork, which combines mindful meditative movement/compassion-in-action with meridian theory, eastern healing principles and philosophies. She expanded her studies into the west with Remedial Massage Therapy and has practiced since 2016 as a massage therapist registered with her professions governing body the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC.
She runs a general practice and is compassionate, down-to-earth and holistic minded. Her approach is gentle, firm and engaging. Treatments support a holistic healing response to optimize function throughout the body. The goal is to create balance, ease and harmony throughout the body’s tissues so you feel lighter, more fluid, relaxed and pain free.
Karen is passionate about helping people experience how manual therapy can improve their quality of life. To best help her patients she mainly practices with therapeutic massage and biodynamic fascial integration: craniofascial work (craniosacral therapy), visceral manipulation and myofascial mobilization.
